There are several signs that can indicate you may have a basement water problem. These can include musty odors, mold growth, dampness or water stains on walls or floors, and even standing water. If you notice any of these signs, it’s important to take action to prevent further damage and potential health risks.
One effective solution is to install an under the slab drainage system and a sump pump. The drainage system collects water that seeps through the basement floor and directs it to the sump pump. The pump then removes the water from the basement and discharges it outside.
This system can help keep your basement dry and prevent water damage. It’s important to have a professional evaluate your specific situation and recommend the best solution for your home.
Our basement waterproofing service comes with a lifetime warranty!
Crawlspace water problems can manifest in various ways, including standing water, dampness, musty odors, and mold growth. These issues can be caused by factors such as poor drainage, high humidity, and water seepage through the foundation walls or floor.
To fix crawlspace water problems, waterproofing and a sump pump system can be an effective solution. Crawlspace waterproofing involves installing a drain along the perimeter of the foundation wall, while a sump pump collects and pumps out any excess water. This combination can help keep the crawlspace dry and free of water damage, improving the air quality and structural integrity of your home.
Our crawlspace waterproofing service comes with a lifetime warranty!
Is your crawlspace damp, dingy, and scary? It may be time to have your crawlspace encapsulated. What exactly is encapsulation?
Crawlspace encapsulation involves creating a barrier between the soil and the air and walls in your crawlspace. We use a thick, high quality plastic that is rolled over the entire ground surface and then up the walls and wrapped around any pillars. We seal off all the air vents and in most cases install a dehumidifier.
What is a dehumidifier? A dehumidifier removes water from the air and maintains a relative humidity you are comfortable with. In general, a 50% relative humidity is ideal to prevent mold growth and improve air quality. Fungi need surface water and airborne water to grow!
There are so many reasons that crawlspace encapsulation is a beneficial decision to make for your health and home.
Our crawlspace encapsulation service comes with a 25 year warranty!
Do you have a moisture problem in your crawlspace or basement? Some of the signs include: moldy or musty smell, Efflorescence (when a wet wall dries, it can leave salt deposits behind), standing water, wood decay.
These are all problems that can cause wood beam sagging. Some other causes of wood beam sagging can include soil settling and being spaced too far apart. No matter what issue you have causing uneven and sagging floors, give Blalock Waterproofing a call!! One of the many services we provide that fixes these issues includes floor stabilization.
How do you know if you have a sagging or uneven floor? Keep out an eye for: squeaking or bouncy floors, doors and windows that will not properly open and shut, sloped, saggy, or uneven floors, nail pops and drywall cracking.
Although there are a few options when it comes to repairing this kind of damage, floor stabilizers are one of the most reliable and lasting solutions you can choose.
We also offer a LIFETIME warranty on this product!
Mold: It’s a serious issue affecting many home’s crawlspaces and basements. You might not even realize that you have mold if you haven’t consulted a professional. 40% – 60% of your home’s air comes from your basement or crawlspace. When mold is present, it can cause a plethora of problems including triggering allergic reactions and even damaging your immune system.
Let’s talk about types of mold:
Black mold: Stachybotrys is black mold that’s extremely toxic. This type of mold generally shows up on drywall, carpet, insulation, and subflooring that has been exposed to moisture or water.
White mold: Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Cladosporium are the most common types of white mold found growing in crawl spaces or basements. It has a powdery consistency and usually appears white. Some white mold could be in the beginning stages of growth, and that means it will change color after some time. White mold can be difficult to see due to its coloring.
Yellow mold: Many people may not be aware that there is such a thing as yellow mold. Like the other molds, it feeds on organic materials, moisture, and oxygen. These conditions all exist in the crawl space. It powerfully attacks wooden structures, causing them to quickly decay and fall apart. So, the moment you notice it growing, taking care of it is imperative to your home’s safety.
No matter what type of mold issue you are facing, we can not only get rid of it, but also prevent it from coming back.
Are your basement walls bowing or cracking? These issues are typically caused by hydrostatic pressure and expansive soils. Hydrostatic pressure is caused by clay soil, around the foundation of your home, absorbing water and pushing or expanding against your foundation. Walls can crack, crumble, and even collapse if not repaired.
To fix this issue, we use one of two products: carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams.
Carbon fiber straps are applied vertically to basement walls and help to stabilize the wall. Our carbon fiber repair system will permanently fix your issue with a lifetime guarantee. It features industrial-grade epoxy that is stronger than other carbon fiber products. Ideal for poured, block and brick walls. For use on cracks or bows up to 2” in total deflection. Can be used on vertical, horizontal, or diagonal cracks.
Steel I-beams are applied to walls vertically as well, but are bolted in at the top and bottom. These wall stabilizers are perfect for foundation reinforcement. This is a pre-engineered, effective and permanent solution that restores structural integrity to a foundation wall. Bowed, sheared and tipped walls can be quickly repaired and restored with just one product. This prevents outside excavation. This product comes with a 10 year warranty.
Both of these products provide an excellent solution to bowed and/or cracking wall issues. These services also include a lifetime warranty!
Are you noticing pooling water coming from your gutter downspouts? You may be in need of new downspout extensions.
This kind of pooling water can cause soil erosion or expansion which leads to cracks in your foundation walls and/or flooding in your basement or crawlspace. When this happens, a multitude of other issues can occur such as decreased air quality, mold, and foundation instability.
Installing downspout extensions will help keep water away from your foundation and out of your home. No matter what water issues you encounter, we can help fix it!
Pooling water around areas such as driveways, garages, and walkways is a small problem that can cause major issues. Trench drainage could be the perfect solution!
Seepage caused by regularly pooling water can cause damage to your basement, crawlspace, and even the structure of your home. Paved surfaces, such as your driveway, can also be weakened by the same pooling water seepage. Walkways can become hazardous in all weather conditions depending on the moisture conditions. Pooling water near your home also creates the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes, bacteria, viruses, mold, and parasites.
All these issues can be unsightly, unhealthy, and expensive to fix! However, with the utilization of trench drainage, we can help prevent these issues from occurring by diverting that pooling water away from areas that are prone to flooding. So, trench drainage not only prevents a ton of damage from occurring, but it also adds visual appeal and value to your home!

Serge LeblancSeptember 30, 2023Cory and his team did an exceptional job. I would highly recommend them. Thank you team Black Waterproofing.Stephen ChechoAugust 31, 2023I had 7 companies come out and give me their assessment and quote; including all of the big names with hundreds of google reviews. Blalock was BY FAR the most reasonably priced and most accommodating. Cory is the owner and operator, so you know you are getting someone that truly does care about the entire customer experience and takes exceptional pride in his work and your satisfaction unlike some of the bigger companies who send employees who just care about getting a paycheck at the end of the week. He was on time, courteous, professional, and patient with all of my questions (and I had a lot). He made sure that he understood exactly what I wanted and delivered (even when what I wanted changed mid project) and left the work site cleaner than he found it. I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome (and saving thousands of dollars) and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Blalock Waterproofing; in fact I already have. Do yourself a huge favor and call Cory for an estimate.cristin BondAugust 30, 2023Cory was great!
