Cory Blalock, the owner of Blalock Waterproofing LLC, started working in this industry over 15 years ago as an installer.
Over the last 15 years, he has worked diligently to learn every aspect of this business. Working in the field has not only taught him valuable lessons that he can put to use in every installation, but also taught him that customer satisfaction is the most important aspect of this industry. He strives to make every customer happy and provide the best, quality work that you can get, for a fraction of the cost of the big name businesses in the area.
Cory grew up in East Tennessee and has been a Sevier County resident since birth. He has been married for 13 years and has two beautiful children and two sweet dogs.

Crawlspace encapsulation involves creating a barrier between the soil and the air and walls in your crawlspace. We use a thick, high quality plastic that is rolled over the entire ground surface and then up the walls and wrapped around any pillars. We seal off all the air vents and in most cases install a dehumidifier.
What is a dehumidifier? A dehumidifier removes water from the air and maintains a relative humidity you are comfortable with. In general, a 50% relative humidity is ideal to prevent mold growth and improve air quality. Fungi need surface water and airborne water to grow!

Mold: It’s a serious issue affecting many home’s crawlspaces and basements. You might not even realize that you have mold if you haven’t consulted a professional. 40% – 60% of your home’s air comes from your basement or crawlspace. When mold is present, it can cause a plethora of problems including triggering allergic reactions and even damaging your immune system.
Let’s talk about types of mold:
Black mold: Stachybotrys is black mold that’s extremely toxic. This type of mold generally shows up on drywall, carpet, insulation, and subflooring that has been exposed to moisture or water.
White mold: Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Cladosporium are the most common types of white mold found growing in crawl spaces or basements. It has a powdery consistency and usually appears white. Some white mold could be in the beginning stages of growth, and that means it will change color after some time. White mold can be difficult to see due to its coloring.
Yellow mold: Many people may not be aware that there is such a thing as yellow mold. Like the other molds, it feeds on organic materials, moisture, and oxygen. These conditions all exist in the crawl space. It powerfully attacks wooden structures, causing them to quickly decay and fall apart. Are your basement walls bowing or cracking? These issues are typically caused by hydrostatic pressure and expansive soils. Hydrostatic pressure is caused by clay soil, around the foundation of your home, absorbing water and pushing or expanding against your foundation. Walls can crack, crumble, and even collapse if not repaired.
To fix this issue, we use one of two products: carbon fiber straps or steel I-beams.
Carbon fiber straps are applied vertically to basement walls and help to stabilize the wall. Our carbon fiber repair system will permanently fix your issue with a lifetime guarantee. It features industrial-grade epoxy that is stronger than other carbon fiber products. Ideal for poured, block and brick walls. For use on cracks or bows up to 2” in total deflection. Can be used on vertical, horizontal, or diagonal cracks.
Steel I-beams are applied to walls vertically as well, but are bolted in at the top and bottom. These wall stabilizers are perfect for foundation reinforcement. This is a pre-engineered, effective and permanent solution that restores structural integrity to a foundation wall. Bowed, sheared and tipped walls can be quickly repaired and restored with just one product. This prevents outside excavation. This product comes with a 10 year warranty.
